Sumilon Island is located 125km/78mi to the southwest of Cebu. The marine sanctuary, located on one side of the island, is the first fish sanctuary that was opened in the Philippines. The sanctuary has beautiful coral garden scenery and caverns to explore. The reserve was recognized to be one of the places with the most fish in the Philippines. Both reef fish and sharks are frequent visitors to this dive site. Sumilon Island constantly has currents, so it can only be recommended for experienced divers.
